The Process

The conversation
WhatsApp or come in. Tell us what you carry, where you carry it, and what failed on the last one. That is usually enough to draw from.

The hide
We show you what is on the rack, not a swatch book. For Nguni and zebra you approve the actual animal by photograph before anything is cut.

The deposit
Half up front, which buys the hide. The balance on collection. We will give you a written figure before you pay anything, and it does not move unless you change the brief.

The build
Cut, skived, stitched, burnished. How long depends on the hide and on what is already on the bench — you have the date before you pay anything. You get photographs at the cut and at the stitch.

Collection
Collect it from the workshop, or we courier it anywhere in South Africa at no charge. Your initials are stamped into the brass before it goes.
What We Make
If It Holds Something,
We Have Built It.
Belts, handbags, travel bags, women’s bags, men’s wallets, cardholders, laptop bags and backpacks, watch straps, footwear, and clothing lines. Cushions and furniture upholstery in Nguni and full-grain, to order.
Worked in ostrich, crocodile, lizard and elephant, and in game skins — Nguni, zebra and springbok. Species that need permits are only ever quoted with their paperwork.
What we do not do: bonded leather, anything with a plastic core, and rush jobs that would mean skipping the finish.
Repairs & Care
We Made It. We Can Open It.
- Stitching Free for the life of the piece. A saddle stitch fails one loop at a time, so bring it early.
- Handles & hardware You pay materials only. Brass is replaced with brass, never plated substitutes.
- Lining & base Quoted before we start. A relined bag is usually cheaper than any new bag worth owning.
- Conditioning Bring it in once a year and we will do it while you wait, at no charge.
Second-hand pieces count. If it carries the AT shank, it comes back to us regardless of who owned it first.
